(English): This course will introduce the broad aspects
of Brazilian political culture. Examination of the evolution
of Brazilian politics since formation of the State will facilitate
understanding of current politics in the context of Brazilian
culture. Although based on historical developments the course’s
perspective will be analytical rather than historical. Traditional
texts will be used in addition to current analysis to provide
a wide-angle view of the subject.

(Português): Este curso introduzirá
aspectos gerais da cultura política brasileira. O exame
da evolução política desde a formação
do Estado brasileiro facilitará a compreensão
da política contemporânea no contexto da cultura
brasileira. Embora baseado em desenvolvimentos históricos,
a perspectiva do curso será analítica e não
histórica. Textos tradicionais assim como textos analíticos
atuais serão utilizados para prover perspectiva abrangente
sobre o tema. |
